FINYE Bagmati Province Committee Launch Event
The Federation of International Nepali Young Entrepreneurs (FINYE) reached a significant milestone by officially launching its Bagmati Province Committee on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Ramada Encore, Kathmandu, marking the organization's formal expansion into Nepal. This event signaled FINYE’s commitment to connecting Nepali entrepreneurs both at home and abroad, creating a global ecosystem of innovation, collaboration, and growth. The event was held under the theme, "Connecting Entrepreneurs, Cultivating Growth: FINYE’s Vision for Bagmati Province," reflecting the organization’s mission to foster networking, drive innovation, and support entrepreneurship development across the region.
Program Overview
The event was chaired by Mr. Swotantra Pratap Shah, FINYE IEC President, and hosted by Er. Dipen Ghale, FINYE IEC General Secretary.
Opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Shamim Anwar, FINYE IEC Vice President, who outlined the organization’s vision: to build a global network of young entrepreneurs and support youth-led enterprises through knowledge-sharing and collaboration between diaspora and local communities.
Mr. Gokarna Dhakal, FINYE IEC Senior Vice President, spoke about the organization's international presence, with branches already established in over nine countries including the USA, UK, Japan, Australia, and the Middle East. He emphasized FINYE’s role in bridging global entrepreneurial communities with local Nepali initiatives.
Inauguration Ceremony
The official inauguration was led by Honorable Minister Damodar Bhandari, Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies of Nepal. In a symbolic gesture representing growth and sustainability, Minister Bhandari poured water into a flower pot. He applauded the efforts of Nepali entrepreneurs abroad and assured full government support for initiatives like FINYE that promote youth entrepreneurship.
- Mr. Rajendra Khetan, Lead Promoter of Laxmi Sunrise Bank, served as a special guest speaker. He encouraged FINYE to explore crowd-funding models and offered mentorship to the newly formed Bagmati team.
- Ms. Laxmi Sharma, Nepal’s first female tempo driver and successful entrepreneur, inspired attendees with her personal journey of overcoming struggles and establishing her own business.
- Mr. Ram Prasad Rimal, Founder of RamLaxman Innovations, shared insights into his inventive journey and current research projects, encouraging innovation among young entrepreneurs.
Closing Remarks
Mr. Ramsharan Thapa, FINYE Nepal Coordinator, shared the organization's goal of empowering Nepali entrepreneurs through global connections and access to resources.
Event Chairman, FINYE IEC President Mr. Swotantra Pratap Shah emphasized that the establishment of the Bagmati Province Committee is part of the organization’s broader vision to expand across all seven provinces of Nepal, as well as internationally. This step marks the beginning of a more deeply rooted national presence for FINYE.
