Zhi Soon MP

Mr. Zhi Soon MP is the Federal Member for Banks in the Australian House of Representatives and a respected public servant dedicated to evidence-based policymaking, community development, and inclusive economic growth.

Before being elected to Parliament, Mr. Soon served as an Australian diplomat in Afghanistan, worked with the internationally renowned Behavioural Insights Team (the “Nudge Unit”), and advised the Prime Minister’s Office on public policy. He was also the youngest-ever appointee to the New South Wales Board of Studies and was named ACT Young Australian of the Year 2008 in recognition of his outstanding leadership and contribution to public service.

Throughout his career, Mr. Soon has championed evidence-based policymaking, education, innovation, and stronger community outcomes. As a Member of Parliament, he continues to advocate for practical policies that promote opportunity, strengthen communities, and deliver sustainable national impact while empowering the next generation of leaders.
